Communia: Journal of Communication & Media Studies
"Where Media Connects Humanity"
Communia: Journal of Communication & Media Studies is a peer-reviewed open access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of communication and media. Published by Literasi Riset Indonesia (LRI), the journal serves as a platform for academics, media professionals, and students to exchange insights and research findings on digital media, mass communication, media culture, public relations, advertising, journalism, and social media studies.
The journal welcomes various types of contributions, including research articles (5,000–8,000 words), brief reports (2,500–4,000 words), research-in-progress notes (≈1,000 words), classroom observations (≈1,000 words), and software reviews (≈800 words). This diversity of formats allows both comprehensive studies and concise reflections to be disseminated.
As an open access journal, all articles are freely available to readers without subscription fees. Authors are not charged for submission or publication (Article Processing Charge = 0 USD).
The journal publishes 12 issues annually, released in the fourth week of each month. The average timeline from submission to publication is 4–6 months, covering initial editorial screening, double-blind peer review, revision, copyediting, and final publication.
Communia was established in 2025 as part of the Literasi Riset Indonesia’s initiative to develop high-quality, accessible, and globally relevant academic publications.
